New €6.9 Million Music and Dance School to Transform San Pedro Alcántara

San Pedro Alcántara is set to become a cultural hub with the construction of a new €6.9 million municipal music and dance school. Approved by Marbella town hall, the project will centralize facilities for 300 students and 20 teachers, replacing the current scattered locations with a purpose-built, modern space.
Located on a 3,260-square-meter plot in the southern part of town, the facility will span 6,423 square meters and feature an innovative design by Huete Arquitectos. The façade will depict a MIDI (musical instrument digital interface) representation of a song, letting natural light into the building, while a three-dimensional representation of musical notes will add a creative touch.
Highlights include a 120-seat auditorium, 20 classrooms, and a rooftop public plaza accessible via a dramatic curved staircase from the adjacent roundabout. Outdoor spaces have been designed to host artistic performances, taking advantage of the area’s favorable climate. Parking for 63 cars and 15 bicycles will also be available, ensuring accessibility for students and visitors alike.
“This is a significant project for San Pedro, combining education, culture, and community,” said Deputy Mayor García. Construction is expected to start this summer, with a completion timeline of 20 months, delivering a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance cultural life in this growing area.
