A spectacular new nature theme park called “Naturapark” is in the works just outside Carratraca, a small town north of Málaga. Covering 200 hectares in the Sierra del Agua, the park is set to cost 10 million euros and promises an unforgettable, educational experience for the whole family.
After 11 years of planning and paperwork, the final building permit is now pending. If approved, construction could start this summer, with plans to open the park in about three years.
What makes Naturapark unique?
- Realistic habitats instead of cages – animals will live in large, open spaces with visual barriers to give visitors the feeling of being inside their world.
- Themed ecosystems – from the African savannah to the Asian jungle, and even areas inspired by Hindu temples.
- Themed stays – sleep in African-style huts and watch animals like giraffes and zebras from your terrace.
- Museum of extinct species – with lifelike replicas created by paleoartists.
- Flying Theatre simulator – for an immersive virtual nature adventure.
- Train ride through the lion habitat – enclosed in glass for safety but up-close viewing.
- Long-stay options – with night tours, Asian safaris, and unique nature experiences.
With a strong focus on conservation, innovation, and family-friendly fun, Naturapark aims to become a leading destination in Europe for eco-tourism and environmental education.
