Marbella’s real estate boom continues in 2025, with the town council granting building permits worth €31.6 million in January alone. This follows a strong €315 million investment in 2024, reinforcing Marbella’s appeal as a prime property hotspot.
Of this year’s approved permits, €28.5 million was allocated to major projects, while €3.1 million covered smaller developments. While residential construction dominates, notable projects include the final phase of the Hotel Los Monteros renovation, highlighting ongoing investment in luxury tourism infrastructure.
Urban development also contributes significantly to the town’s economy, with the 2025 municipal budget expecting to collect €6.4 million from urban planning fees, with projections reaching up to €30 million.

Las Chapas Development and Infrastructure Improvements
At a recent Las Chapas district meeting, officials reported processing 1,000 urban planning licenses in the last nine months, reflecting high demand in the area. Other key updates include:
- New Health Centre: Currently being equipped by the Junta.
- Municipal Swimming Pool: Set to open in the coming months.
- Coastal Path Extension: Several kilometers added for public access.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: €120,000 allocated for improvements to the Mairena road and over €10 million for drainage system enhancements in El Rosario, Costa Bella, and Hacienda de Las Chapas.
With growing investment and continuous urban expansion, Marbella remains a top destination for both property development and luxury tourism.
