Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport is set to welcome an expanded winter flight schedule, with 9.7 million seats available – an 8.2% increase compared to last year. This makes Malaga the third-largest airport in Spain in terms of winter capacity, following Madrid and Barcelona. The low season, starting this Sunday and running until the end of March, will offer travelers more options as airlines introduce 10 new routes to the Costa del Sol.
According to Aena, this growth surpasses the national average, with 134.2 million seats available across Spain’s airports this season, reflecting a 5.6% increase from last year. Among Malaga’s new direct connections are Athens, Belgrade, Tallinn, and several cities in Germany, the UK, and Poland, further strengthening its international reach.
With more flights and destinations, this expansion underscores Malaga’s importance as a key winter destination, offering enhanced connectivity for both tourists and residents.
